OpenStudy (julyahx1):

Parallelogram FGHI on the coordinate plane below represents the drawing of a horse trail through a local park: In order to build a scale model of the trail, the drawing is enlarged on the coordinate plane. If two corners of the trail are at point A(0, 4) and point D(−6, −5), what is another point that could represent a corner of the trail? (4, 4) (11, 4) (6, −5) (−17, −5)

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

@3mar

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

@OtherWorldly i don't know what this is please help

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

@AloneS

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

okay so FGHI is the same as ABCD and they gave you point A. What do you think the scale is from F coordinates to A coordinates

OpenStudy (3mar):

I think @OtherWorldly knows what she is doing!

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

XD thank you @3mar !!!

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@JULYAHX1 do you know how to find the scale?

OpenStudy (3mar):

No problem. I mean what I said!

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

:)

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@JULYAHX1 they also give you the coordinates for D so what do u think the scale is from I coordinates to D coordinates

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

im not sure how to find the scale. Im really bad at geometry subject

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

okay so one way to find the scale is to count F to I which is 2 left, 2 down

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

we already now the coordinates for A and D which is the same as F and I

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

find how many counts to the left then down they are and let me know

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

7, 1 ?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

a to d is not 7 , 1

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

from A to -6 is 6 left then from that point down to coordinates of D is?

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

okay now I'm confused. Which letters scale am i finding??

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

theres no D?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Okay let me tell you XD from A to D it would be 6 left then 9 down to reach coordinates D. Just like i told you before as an example, F to I is 2 left then 3 down

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

look at the instructions it tells you the coordinates of D

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

oh okay i get that now. so what should i do

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

like look for

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

look at this from 2, 3 to 6, 9 what do you think the scale is

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

multiply by what

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

oh gosh uh

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

2 x ? = 6 3 x ? = 9

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

? is the scale

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

3 and 3

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

i look like such a stupid person don't i XDD i swear I'm smart in my other subjects! XD

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

okay so the scale is 3

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

yes

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Don't worry everyone has trouble once in a while :)

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

ya thanks (:

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

okay i want you to post the coordinates of G and H from the graph

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

G = (-3, 5) and H= (-5, 2)

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@3mar for some reason i feel like i made a mistake, is the scale 3 or did i go wrong somewhere?

OpenStudy (3mar):

where is it?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

idk i think i got the scale wrong

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@HocusPucus292333393

OpenStudy (3mar):

Let me see

OpenStudy (hocuspucus292333393):

:3 hello

OpenStudy (hocuspucus292333393):

>:3 oh its math

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

I'm sorry @JULYAHX1 i must of made a mistake :(

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

It's okay! But what do u think the answer is? Because it's reallyyyyyy late where i am /:

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

This is what i think........ because F to A is 1, 7 then from G to B would be 1 , 7 as well......and the question is to find another point with the scale and if you do g to B 1, 7 you get one of the choices so.......

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

im not sure tho just my opinion

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

brb

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

wait so what answer u said

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

same brb ill write "back" when I'm back i just gotta use the bathroom lol

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

back @OtherWorldly

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

so answer you think?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

This is what i think........ because F to A is 1, 7 then from G to B would be 1 , 7 as well......and the question is to find another point with the scale and if you do g to B 1, 7 you get one of the choices so.......what do you think the choice i meant was

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

um.. i think c

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

or d

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

@OtherWorldly

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

no i was referring to A

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@3mar have you figured it out???

OpenStudy (3mar):

what about you @OtherWorldly ?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

i have decided it is A officially

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

oh that makes sense

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

all that i did before tho was for nothing

OpenStudy (julyahx1):

its alright you're still an amazing helper! fact

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Thank you next time ill just do it the really really simple way I don't know why i did so much before....i guess i was just trying to show you the method for finding the scale

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

@3mar do you think it isn't A

OpenStudy (nickon):

i think it is C because i graphed it and look

OpenStudy (3mar):

For me, it would be (6,-5)

OpenStudy (nickon):

thats what i said

OpenStudy (nickon):

https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (3mar):

why? do you know why and how I got that @OtherWorldly and @JULYAHX1 ?

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

nope which point is being graphed B or C

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

that you think is (6, -5

OpenStudy (nickon):

OpenStudy (nickon):

so the 3 one gose there on (6.-5)

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

yaaaaay i was right the scale is # i guess i just got lost at the end

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

from what @nickon showed from the attachment its scale 3

OpenStudy (nickon):

OpenStudy (nickon):

how it is suppose to look

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

it is (6, -5) I SEE IT YAY

OpenStudy (3mar):

\(C=(6,-5)\) |dw:1481782651367:dw|
