@AloneS

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

So we have some triangle with 3 side lengths: |dw:1481932080058:dw| If we wanted to draw this w/ a scale factor of two... how would we do that? @devonhoward15

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

half all the sides

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

so it would be 3,2,2,

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

is this correct?

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Recall that: "A dilation is a transformation that produces an image that is the same shape as the original, but is a different size. A dilation used to create an image larger than the original is called an enlargement. A dilation used to create an image smaller than the original is called a reduction." image/original = scale factor... If the scale factor is 2 --> Than we want to multiply each side by two.

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

|dw:1481932499768:dw|

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

im so confused... where did you get 6 and 4?

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

I counted the length of the sides on the ORIGINAL image of the triangle.... aka the pre image

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Do you see where i got that from?@devonhoward15

OpenStudy (devonhoward15):

yes

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Okay cooll... so we have |dw:1481932687553:dw|
