The price of a gym membership has a one-time sign-up fee and a monthly fee. The price can be modeled by the function y = 10x + 15, where x is the number of months. What is the y-intercept, and what does it represent? 10; it represents the monthly fee 10; it represents the one-time sign-up fee 15; it represents the monthly fee - THIS ONE 15; it represents the one-time sign-up fee
The y-intercept can be found be letting x=0.
ok
I notice you just close the question. Does mean you got this?
no, no one was helping so there was no point LOL
Ok. So you do need help? If so have you found the y-intercept yet? If so what is it?
isnt it 15, cuz the x intercept is 10x which represents months?
the x-intercept isn't 10x
oh is it 10?
The x-intercept can be found by replacing y with 0 and solving for x. Where as.... The y-intercept can be found by replacing x with 0 and finding y.
ok.......
You have y=10x+15 to find the y-intercept replace the x with 0 as I have suggested when x is 0 what do you find y to be...
also the question doesn't ask us to find the x-intercept just the y-intercept
ok
y =0,15
the y intercept is (0,15) that is right... when x=0 we have y=15 so some say the y-intercept is 15 if x represents the number of months what do you think the y-intercept means in this case remember the y-intercept is when you have 0 months (this is what x is when we are lying on the y-axis)
oh ok thanks
what choice are you going with and why?
one time sign up fee
awesome
ok thanks so D
yep
thanks so much:)
