OpenStudy (ashsmashum):

Please help I'm really bad at math for each equation tell weather its graph is a horizontal or a vertical line y=-4

OpenStudy (sooobored):

whether

OpenStudy (sooobored):

did you try plotting it? the points on this line will need to satisfy y=-4 hence all the points will be (x,-4) and points like (0,-4) (1,-4),(2,-4) will be on this line if you only take a look at this three points, does the line look vertical or horizontal?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please, do yourself a big favor, and stop advertising, "I'm really bad at math." I'm sure you can learn what you have to, through study and practice. OK? Draw a set of coordinate axes and then plot several points; use the ones soobored has suggested. Draw a line thru those points. Is the resulting line vertical, slant or horiz.? Now try plotting the points (1, 5), (1, 7), (1, -2). Draw a line thru these points. Is the resulting line horiz. or vert.? Conclusion: If you have a bunch of points and all of them have the same y-coordinate (for example, y=k), then the line thru these points is horiz. and the equation of the line is y=k.

\(\bf \begin{array}{rllll} x&y \\\hline\\ \pm 1&-4\\ \pm 5&-4\\ \pm 1000&-4\\ \pm 1,000,000&-4\\ \pm 1,000,000,000&-4\\ \pm \infty & -4 \end{array}\impliedby \textit{what does that give you}\)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Complete this sentence: "No matter what value x may have, y always has the value .... ? "

OpenStudy (mathmale):

The resulting graph is a horizontal vertical line. (Circle the correct answer.)
