wouldnt we have to find the perimeter of the semicircle and subtract the perimeter of the rectangle by that?

^ close but not quite first you want to find the perimeter of the semicircle using the formula P = (1/2) * 2 * pi * r where r = 9 then add the other three sides of the rectangle

I vote for Vocaloid's response. 1) Find the total length of the 3 straight sides. 2) Find the circumference of a circle of radius 9 m, and then divide this by 2. 3) Add together the results of (1) and (2), above, including the correct unit of measurement.
