YoursTruly:

What type of sift in light do we see when objects are getting further away form us? A. blue shift B. yellow shift C. violet shift D. red shift

YoursTruly:

I'm thinking B. but I'm not sure.

Bob:

This is called the Doppler shift... I think.

YoursTruly:

And Doppler means?

Bob:

It's the surname of the guy that created the effect. .-.

YoursTruly:

Oh. XD Woops. >.> You know how when you stare at something, and there's a light behind it, there's either a yellow or blue outline around the object?

Bob:

Anyways... when an object is moving closer towards you, it has high frequency. But when it moves farther away, there's lower frequency...

Bob:

Farther to the right is high frequency (an object moving towards you.) Farther to the left is low frequency (an object moving away from you.)

YoursTruly:

Okay, one sec.

YoursTruly:

So, red?

Bob:

Yeah.

YoursTruly:

Thank you.
