A Discussion about Answering Questions
Disclaimer: I am trying my best to be civil, polite, and fair in this discussion. My goal is to address a problem that I have been seeing in the QuestionCove community as of late.
I have noticed an influx of direct answers (with NO explanation) and many of them are incorrect. Please consider that many students (including myself) care very deeply about their grades because they will affect college admissions, job applications, and more. Misleading information can impede our understanding of the material, and lead to poor performance on assessments. If you want to answer a question, please choose questions that are at your expertise or below. Make sure you can back up your answer using the correct logic and reasoning, and don't be afraid to double check with the internet or with another user if you are unsure. If you are unsure, please admit it. You can then do the following things. 1. You can say "I am not sure but I think the answer MIGHT be _____ because __________" 2. You can tag someone else.
I am not a perfect person; sometimes I get lazy with my answers/explanations. But I try to justify my answers with some sort of reasoning, or simply admit that I don't know. I make mistakes, too, and I don't mind being corrected (politely) because I want to learn and grow too.
