Sarah10:

i just need a simple explanation becuase i have alot of these i need to do. And i dont want to have all of them done by someone else

Sarah10:

i have burdened you alot black ghost im sorry

563blackghost:

Nah it's alright, it's just these problems were always a bit hard for me.

Sarah10:

yea im sorry

563blackghost:

For this one https://prnt.sc/h1i7zt Since it is a square then the distance from origin will be the same. For example is we have a square with a point 4 units from origin then the points will be (0,0), (0,4), (4,0), and (4,4); this applies as well. The points would be `A(0,0)`, `B(a,0)`, `C(a,a)`, and `D(0,a)` Do you understand that?

Sarah10:

so C and B are 0

Sarah10:

because they have no points ?

563blackghost:

No they have a point. A square has equal sides right?

Sarah10:

oh yea

563blackghost:

Right, so they will each have a distance from origin. |dw:1508869881172:dw| If we look at the example above we see that we have a point at origin, then we go up 4 units (cause of the side length) so the next point is (0,4), then we go to the right 4 units (cause of the side length) and get the point (4,0) and we go 4 units to the right and up (cause of the side length) to get the point (4,4). Hope this visual helps ya understand a bit.

563blackghost:

This is an example by the way.

Sarah10:

wow explanation waaaay better than my teacher !

563blackghost:

XD ok great you understand

Sarah10:

thnx!

Sarah10:

wait

563blackghost:

Yes!

563blackghost:

It is 1!

Sarah10:

oh ! i wasnt sure lol

563blackghost:

Always trust your gut ;)

Sarah10:

so -1 is the product of the slopes ?

563blackghost:

Yes :)

Sarah10:

awesome !!

563blackghost:

The next question is a bit confusing for me so hold on for just a bit.

Sarah10:

okie

563blackghost:

Just to fore-warn I am 70% sure of my answer. ok?

Sarah10:

better than whatever ill think of !

563blackghost:

Ok. Well we see that we start our rectangle at origin, and we have a known point of `(3a,0)` meaning the unit is greater than 3 units. Since the shorter side is `one-third` the length of the longer side we would multiply 3 by 1/3. Now these two cancel to be 1 unit. Meaning that point is (0,a). Would you like an example (if you don't understand)?

Sarah10:

i think i understand

563blackghost:

ok great :)

Sarah10:

i kind off shut off the 1/3 thats why i was kinda confused

563blackghost:

yea these are a real head turner XD

Sarah10:

Well i cant thank you enough!

563blackghost:

Your very welcome! If you ever need help again and see me on just tag or message me and I'll see if I can help if I am not busy :)
