Mathematics help.
Can someone please tell me where did the 5t=2t+(10t/6)+(10/1) come from?
start with 1/2 = 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/t multiply everything by t (to get rid of that t in the denominator) t/2 = t/5 + t/6 + 1 multiply by 2 to remove the 2 in the first denominator t = 2t/5 + 2t/6 + 2 then multiply everything by 5 to get 5t = 2t + 10t/6 + 10
the logic behind this is that you are eliminating denominators, one by one, to get rid of those ugly fractions
to remove the 2 in the first denominator?
i do not see a two in a denominator.
t/2 = t/5 + t/6 + 1 t/2
alright.
why multiply everything by 5, wouldnt it be only 5 on the left side which will result in 5x=2x+2x/6+2/1?
if you multiply the left hand side by something you have to multiply the other side too
to keep both sides equal
so it would be 5t=10t+10t/6+10/1?
almost
start with : t = 2t/5 + 2t/6 + 2 you end up with 5t = 2t*5/5 + 2*5t/6 + 2*5
2t*5/5? where did that come from?
wasnt the /5 part already on the left side of the equal sign?
dw:1509407833626:dw
which will result in? (drawing please.)
dw:1509407902558:dw
dw:1509407944689:dw
but doesnt the 5 from 2x/5 already cancel out?
all we're doing is sticking a 5 in front of every term
the 5/5 cancels out, yes
dw:1509408018896:dw
ok, now it is equal to 10.
do you know where to go from there?
i think.
multiply everything by 6?
yup
and cancel the 6's.
rite
alright, thank you very much.
