A cricket is making a series of jumps forward in the same direction. The first jump is 1/2 of a foot. The second jump is 1/4 of a foot. The third jump is 1/8 of a foot, etc, so each jump is 1/2 the length of the previous jump. How many jumps does it take for the cricket to jump 1 foot?
Bearclaws72:
Voca did you make this yourself?
563blackghost:
wait...
563blackghost:
well that is weird, ok I know i got the series right but the outcome of it confuses me...hmmm ill look at it more
Vocaloid:
you have your series right but think about what conditions are necessary for the sum to be 1 ^^

Well the redaction 1/1=1 so is it one?
Goldenmattman2003:
Fraction* typo
Vocaloid:
Nope, 1 jump would only be 1/2 of a foot
Goldenmattman2003:
Hmmmm
Goldenmattman2003:
Is it 2 because...
1/2+1/2=1

@Vocaloid
Vocaloid:
The first jump is 1/2
The second jump is 1/4
Two jumps would only be 1/2 + 1/4 = 3/4
Vocaloid:
So not enough to get 1 foot
Goldenmattman2003:
Mmmm
Aureo:
I know the answer @Vocaloid . :^)
