katherine:

Why are decomposers important to energy transfer within an ecosystem?

katherine:

@Hero @JustSaiyan

JustSaiyan:

They remove the waste that would pollute the air and water. The decomposers use the waste to benefit themselves as well as the environment, making soil more fertile, and providing untainted water.

katherine:

this is in yr own words?

JustSaiyan:

Uh huh. Always. Saiyan doesn't cheat.

JustSaiyan:

You can google it if you aren't sure.

katherine:

What problems would you expect to observe in an ecosystem without secondary consumers? Be sure to answer this question in paragraph form using complete sentences.

JustSaiyan:

The loss of secondary consumers would lead to an overpopulation of primary consumers, which would lead to the lack of plant life, throwing the food chain out of balance, and the primary consumers would eat all of the plant life, and then die out from starvation.

katherine:

you're good

JustSaiyan:

Thank you, I try. Just don't tag me in math. :P

katherine:

no, dw. I'm all done with math :D

katherine:

Thank you, once again

JustSaiyan:

You're welcome.
