Hey guys ^.^ Sorry to bother... but I would like to conduct a survey for my school assignment.
1. Do you think those convicted of serious crimes can learn to be responsible, law-abiding citizens? Explain your answer. 2. Do you think the threat of punishment prevents people from committing crimes? Why or why not? 3. Some crimes, usually those that are more serious like murder, carry minimum sentences. This means that anyone convicted of the crime under any circumstances must be given at least the minimum sentence for that crime. Do you think this is fair? Why or why not? 4. Some countries do not have sentences for the term of "life." In places like Spain and Norway, offenders are sentenced for a specific number of years for murder, typically over 20 years. What factors might affect the sentence lengths that different countries use for similar crimes? 5. If an offender is sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, then the offender will remain in jail for the rest of his or her natural life regardless of his or her age at the time of the crime. This means that a 20-year-old may serve 60 years in prison while his partner in crime who was 50 years old at the time might only serve 20 years for the same crime. Is this fair? Why or why not?
You don't need facts or research ^.^ answer with your opinion.
@Vocaloid
where is my @?
I tagged you...
nice
I think murder should be a single year and through out the year they will be treated with pure love and motivation and help from pastors, youth ministers, etc. Not from Catholics or the false christianity branch thingies.
So... you are saying probation correct?
I guess but they will be in cells that are comfortable
and play in the court yard and not be treated badly.
All cells are comfortable in the U.S..... reason why offenders go back in less than 2 years
ok
nice info
Sorry :O I forgot this is personal opinions... very sorry
lol im not mad
I'm sorry if I gave an impression of being angry :p

lol
What is an offender?
nvm
offender = criminal/suspect
what crime did number 5 do?
Don't know... I believe grand theft or assault.
5. I'll say 3 years each with intense love and care and motivation and help from pastors, youth ministers, etc. Not from Catholics or the false christianity branch thingies. And if they don't change just keep adding the years. Also not to be forceful trying to shove God inside of them its free will of course. They will be under intense parol after 3 years.
first typo 15 not 5 forgot 1 there 15 and greater not less
not saying Christianity is bad I'm talking about the fake ones like Catholicism and all the weird named ones there is only One and that is Christian.
1. I think that if anything, from being in prison, they would get worse. 2. Yes and No, a lot of people aren't afraid of going to jail. If it were a eye for an eye, that would scare people. 3. Depends on the crime really. 4. However morale somebody was who thought the system up 5. if they serve life in prison, just kill them. They won't be brought back into society anyway, they eat resources, and have no reason for living if they will die in there anyway.
Amazing :O Thank you so much guys...
Special thank you @woolyfrog & @Ultrilliam
I am very uninformed on this subject but I will give my honest opinion based on my understanding 1. Theoretically possible but not statistically likely. Recidivism rates for serious crimes are 60-70%+. 2. No. I am not sure if this trend applies to all crimes in general but states with the death penalty do not have statistically lower crime rates than states that do. I believe that reducing crime is a matter of solving systemic/socioeconomic problems that drive people to crime. 3. I am uncertain about this one. I would hesitantly say no, and judge each case on a case-by-case basis instead of applying a minimum sentencing rule, since cases under the same category can be wildly different. 4. Probably that country's history, type of government, economy, culture, stuff like that 5. I've never actually thought about it this way. Maybe we should be assigning lengths based on a percentage of that person's remaining years? :S Hm.
someone please medal @Vocaloid also please ^.^
No problem USArmy
The eye for an eye quote is in the Old Testament of the Bible, but Jesus said in the New Testament "If someone hits you in the cheek turn the other way" obviously he said it more poetic I just tried to do the best I remembered.
Murder is bad they shouldn't die I'll let them eat all the resources.
*Jesus (PBUH) said in `new ` testament*
