PLS HELP!!! For the function whose graph is shown, which is the correct formula for the function? y = |x – 1| y = |x| + 1 y = |x| – 1 y = |x + 1| https://dlap.gradpoint.com/Resz/~yUA6AAAAAAg4ajqJcpJD6B.lMIL6pyKTAgqnxtlS0qfBC/7234256,E69/Assets/questions/quiz/algebra_1/al1funct/IMG10562x.jpg

You know immediately that it isn't the second one and fourth one. This is because if you input 0 in for x, you get a y level of 1. The y intercept as shown for the graph is -1.
Try test other x values in the 1st and third option and see what values for y you get.
@eviant ?
You there?
yeah, sorry had to go in between
Did you try inputting x values?
I'm still learning how to do that, I didn't have a chance to go to my math class today
-4-1=3
Which equation are you using?
the first one
-4 - 1 = -4
In absolute value, you could get positive 4
so, it's the first one?
or should I try the 3rd one?
At -4, do you have a y elevation of 4 on the graph?
you mean the point (4,3)?
\[y = \left| -4 - 1 \right| = 4\] x input: -4 y output: 4
Wait I am tired
Lol
5
take a nap
thanks
