zarkam21:

What type of element loses electrons in ionic bonding, and what type of charge will it create? Metals loose electrons to non metals to form ionic bond. When a metal has lost an electron it acquires a positive charge. The non metal which gain electron acquires a negative charge.

AravindG:

What is your attempt at this?

zarkam21:

The question is What type of element loses electrons in ionic bonding, and what type of charge will it create?

zarkam21:

And my answer is Metals loose electrons to non metals to form ionic bond. When a metal has lost an electron it acquires a positive charge. The non metal which gain electron acquires a negative charge.

zarkam21:

I just wanted to see if I am right

AravindG:

Metals do take part in ionic reactions.

zarkam21:

OH i thought they do lose electrons
