nuts:

draw it on an argand diagram

Vocaloid:

alright, you have a + bi arctan(b/a) will give you the angle, sqrt(a^2+b^2) will give you the coefficient (A) for A(cos(theta) + isin(theta))

Vocaloid:

would you like to try answer choice A? 1 + i taking the coefficients gives us a = 1 and b = 1 can you try calculating arctan(b/a) and r = sqrt(a^2 + b^2)?

RektbyFaith:

artan 1/1 r=sqrt1^2+1^2 = R=sqrt2?

Vocaloid:

good, and arctan(1/1) is pi/4 so putting it back into polar form gives sqrt(2)(cos(pi/4) + isin(pi/4)) which conveniently matches answer choice A, got lucky this time
