JMT:

Complete the table for ion charge based upon their losing or gaining electrons in the outer shell. (Use the periodic table as necessary.) Group Most Likely Ionic Charge # of Valence Electrons I +1 II +2 III +3 IV +4 or -4 V -3 VI -2 VII -1 VIII 0

KyroKazimake:

This looks right to me what do you need help with??

KyroKazimake:

Wait I'm confused @JMT , can you tell me what the roman numerals represent

JMT:

The group on the periodic table

KyroKazimake:

Ok and you need to know the amount of valence electrons in each group correct?

JMT:

Correct

KyroKazimake:

Ok so the group number is also the same number of the valence electrons of the elements in that group For example hydrogen is in group 1 and it has 1 valence electron

JMT:

ohhh thanks

KyroKazimake:

Np also be careful with helium because it appears in group 8 but it's actually in group 2 so it only has 2 valence electrons
