Vocaloid:
are the statements at the end supposed to be equal signs?
sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1?

zarkam21:
oh yes

Vocaloid:
there should only be two solutions
solving for cos^2(2x) gives us
cos(2x) = 1/2
then figure out what angles on the UC give a cos value of 1/2 then divide the results by 2

you there :)

Vocaloid:
still working on the calculations
I don't think pi/4 is a solution
using the sin difference rule I get
sin(3x-x) = 0 can you try solving this for x

zarkam21:
x=pi?

Vocaloid:
good
and there's only one choice that includes both pi/2 and pi, which one is it?

zarkam21:
a

actually b?

almost, 3pi/4 + 2pi*k is only one of the solutions;
solving for 2cos(x) + sqrt(2) = 0 gives cos(x) = -sqrt(2)/2 and there's one more value on the UC where cos(x) = -sqrt(2)/2

zarkam21:
d

zarkam21:
no b

well, is it 5pi/4 or 7pi/4 where cos(x) = -sqrt(2)/2?

almost
if you want to multiply the r-value by -1 you have to add pi to the angle not 2pi

zarkam21:
yes side a and b

angle B cannot be 141.92 degres because angle A is already 113 degrees

it would make the sum of the triangle > 180
