Gdeinward:

Can you help me with this? The image below shows two dilated figures with lines KO and K’O’ drawn. If the larger figure was dilated using a scale factor of 5, what relationship do lines KO and K’O’ have?

jhonyy9:

where is the below image ? please post it

jhonyy9:

there are given any image to this your exercise ? than yes so use this Attach File button to post it

Gdeinward:

sorry I had to stop before I could upload it. Here it is,

Gdeinward:

I think that the lines will remain parallel.

jhonyy9:

do you know what mean dilatation scale factor of 5 ? yes what you ve wrote above is right that the lines will remain parallel

jhonyy9:

are you here ?

Gdeinward:

yes

Gdeinward:

I figured as much what do you mean about"do you know what mean dilatation scale factor of 5 ? "

jhonyy9:

ok so this dilatation scale factor of 5 mean that what was 1 unit in initial figure after dilatation has 5 unit length ok. ?

jhonyy9:

do you understand me ?

Gdeinward:

Oh is see. I knew that already but it almost seemed like too easy of an answer:like I was missing something

Gdeinward:

I kinda just wanted to double check

Gdeinward:

Thanks for the help.

jhonyy9:

so than you see this figure what i ve draw it above there you see that in initial figure KA has a length of x and in case of dilated figure has a length of x+5

Gdeinward:

yes

jhonyy9:

and in case of AO with length y in case of dilated figure will be y+5

jhonyy9:

so for you can giving the right answer first of all you need calcule the length of KO using these note of x and y and the length of K'O' using these length dilated x+5 and y+5 after you get these just divide them and so will get the scale factor of dilation from KO to K'O'

jhonyy9:

do you understand it now ?

jhonyy9:

do you have questions ?

Gdeinward:

no I understand everything. Thanks for the help

jhonyy9:

was my pleasure good luck bye bye
