7. Although silver is not easily attacked by acids (and for that reason it has been used to make jewelry and household items), it will dissolve in concentrated nitric acid, producing brown NO gas and leaving a solution of silver nitrate in water. Write the unbalanced chemical equation for this process.
Kinda looks tough but.....
Silver is Ag.......
Ag(s) + HNO3(aq) ----> Ag+(aq) + NO(g) + H2(g)
Thanks for the answer??? Is that a direct answer?
Wouldn't say it is, but I'm not too sure. Just came on the fly and that's what I came up with.
Ok then thank you
I'll try to see how the equation matches the problem
Oh yea 1 more question umm, do you know what an aqueous solution is?
Like how would Ik the difference between aqueous and liquid to put after the element(s)?
Nvm I'll just make that a separate post.
Well, aqueous is a term used to describe a system which involves water. The word aqueous is also applied to describe a solution or mixture in which water is the solvent.
So aqueous is basically a mixture involving water or water as the dissolver, while a liquid solution is not involving water?
