nini:

Select each equation which is equivalent to 60% of 25. 0.6 • 25 = x x • 1.6 = 25 610=x25 60100=25x x25=60100 6.0 • 25 = x

nini:

helpppp

ramen:

For a few of these, if you multiply 25 by a number greater than 1, the answer will be greater than 25 which we don't want because we want to find 60% of 25. Multiplying 25 by a number less than 1 however will do the job because multiplying 25 a decimal will be less than 25.

nini:

sooooooooooooooo whats the anwser

ramen:

However, it is different it is the exact opposite of you divide. Divide 25 by a number greater than 1 and you get a number smaller than 25, and divide 25 by a number less than 1 will get a number greater than 25.

nini:

omg

ramen:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @nini omg \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) That is a rule here on qc.

ramen:

Just try working through the equations or use my tips to find the ones equivalent to 60% of 25. If the answer is less than 25, that is most likely the correct answer (given you didn't do any errors). If the answer is greater than 25, that is the wrong answer (also given you didn't do any errors).

nini:

what ever

ramen:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @nini what ever \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Wym?

nini:

i dont get itt

ramen:

What do you still not get?

ramen:

Thank you for simplifying what I just said

mxddi3:

yuhh. ok so for the first one of 0.6x25=x can you tell me what 0.6 x 25 is ?

mxddi3:

what ramen was saying is that when you are dividing, if you divide by a fraction, the number is gonna get bigger, but if you divide by a whole number it'll get smaller. example: \[25\div5=5\] but \[25 \div \frac{ 1 }{ 4 }=100\] does this make ANY sense?
