(5, 0) is a point, so when 5 is plugged into x the result has to be 0 right? for y i mean so a(x-h)^2 is x=5 then a(5-h)^2 the only way you can get y=0 is h also equals 5

darkknight:

do you understand that?

darkknight:

y = a(x-h)^2 where h = 5 y = a(x-5)^2 if we plug in 10 for x, then y = a(10-5)^2 y = -15 so -15 = a(5)^2 -15 = 25a a = -15/25

darkknight:

thats how we solved for a and h, plug those values in so y = (-15/25)(x-5)^2

dontsaymyname:

Ty, but should -15/25 be simplified??

dontsaymyname:

@darkknight

dontsaymyname:

0-0

supie:

He left.

dontsaymyname:

0-0, do yall think I should simplify the -15/25?

dontsaymyname:

welp.

supie:

I'm not really sure tbh.

dontsaymyname:

Ig, ill simplify :/

supie:

Ok good luck.

dontsaymyname:

Thxs

supie:

np

darkknight:

ofc it should, but it doesnt really matter, yeah its kinda intuitive, simplify always
