In the most famous line of the play, Juliet asks, "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" Despite the line's fame, many people misread or misunderstand it. What is Juliet asking and worrying about here?

Vocaloid:

Please do not copy-paste my response. People think "wherefore" means "where" but it is much closer in meaning to "why." In the Juliet "wherefore art thou Romeo" monologue she's lamenting the fact that Romeo was born to a feuding family (the Montagues) and that they can't be together due to their families names.
