12345678 What is the volume of the following triangular prism? https://hcbe.owschools.com/media/g_mat07_ccss_2016/10/img_quiz_triangular_prism.gif 252 yd3 126 yd3 42 yd3 84 yd3

narutouzamaki2:

plz help

jhonyy9:

formula of volume of a triangular prism do you know ?

narutouzamaki2:

no

jhonyy9:

but like a first step you need convert this 9 ft in yrd @Laylalyssa

Laylalyssa:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @jhonyy9 but like a first step you need convert this 9 ft in yrd @Laylalyssa \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes?

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @jhonyy9 but like a first step you need convert this 9 ft in yrd \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) That's a really good observation!! I would have missed that entirely.

narutouzamaki2:

its 3 yards

I would have missed that entirely. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes i missed it too first

narutouzamaki2:

its 3 yards

jhonyy9:

ok but you know formula for volume of a prism ?

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @narutouzamaki2 no \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) you dont learn it ?

narutouzamaki2:

The formula for the volume of a prism is V=Bh

jhonyy9:

B what is ?

jhonyy9:

how you calcule the B ?

narutouzamaki2:

base and h id hight

jhonyy9:

B not is base B is area of base

narutouzamaki2:

oh

jhonyy9:

but then you see the base triangle is a right triangle so you can calcule easy area of this triangle - yes ?

narutouzamaki2:

im lost

jhonyy9:

|dw:1613744736033:dw|

jhonyy9:

this is the base triangle area of this triangle = ?

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @jhonyy9 A = base *height /2 A = ? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\)

narutouzamaki2:

6

jhonyy9:

yes so area of base you now equal 6 volume equal area of base time height

jhonyy9:

the height of prism = ?

jhonyy9:

h = 7 yrd

jhonyy9:

V = B *h V = ?

narutouzamaki2:

idk jeeez u make it so hard\

jhonyy9:

V = B*h B = 6 yrd^2 h=7 yrd V = ?

jhonyy9:

V = 6*7 = ? yrd^3

jhonyy9:

ok ?

narutouzamaki2:

its 42

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @narutouzamaki2 its 42 \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes ofc 42 yrd^3

narutouzamaki2:

now az] can u help me with the rest

jhonyy9:

rest of what ?

AZ:

I'm sorry that you're still confused. Let me try to explain. You know that area is trying to find the area for a 2-Dimensional object like a circle or a square. Volume is trying to find the area for a 3-Dimensional object like a cylinder or a prism. When you think of the concept of volume, it's basically like trying to find how much water you could pour into that container. When you're finding the area of a rectangle, it's like trying to find how much paint you would need to paint that wall. What makes volume different from area is the height aspect. You just multiply the area of the base by the height. That's how Jhonny got Volume = area of the base * height Does that help clarify things?

narutouzamaki2:

i have 4 more question i need help on

jhonyy9:

ok but please post them on the open questions column and i will help you there and this please close it

narutouzamaki2:
