Hello @chelsearoberts14 welcome to QuestionCove, give us a minute to read your question :) do you by any chance have multiple choice options that go with your question?

Angle:

@TypicalFoxGirl you can not assume that the missing angles are equal to each other

TypicalFoxGirl:

@Angle, right, thank you, I just noticed it said "which statement is true" in the question (if you could delete then when you see it that'd be nice uwu)

Angle:

you could have kept your explanation up part of it is correct The idea we want to use here, chelsea, is that the three angles in a triangle have to add up to equal 180 degrees in total. this means that <JKL + <KLJ + <LKJ = 180 degrees

Angle:

awesome, chelsea has shared with me that: a) the sum of the two angles equals 110 degrees b) The sum of the two angles equals 70 degrees c) The sum of the two angles creates an obtuse angle d) The sum of the two angles creates a right angle

Angle:

In this case, if they have to add up to 180 what is 180 - 110 = ? @chelsearoberts14

chelsearoberts14:

70

Angle:

that is essentially your answer then! :) because <JKL + <KLJ + <LKJ = 180 degrees if <JKL = 110 then 110 + <KLJ + <LKJ = 180 degrees then <KLJ + <LKJ = 180 - 110 then <KLJ + <LKJ = 70

geometry is my favorite math topic, so if you have more questions feel free to close this post to ask a new question :)

chelsearoberts14:

The intersection of roads P and Q creates a 71 degree angle . What are the complementary and supplementary angles of this intersection?

Angle:

The information we need to use in this problem is: Complementary angles add up to equal 90 degrees Supplementary angles add up to equal 180 degrees

Angle:

So to find the complementary angle to 71 you want to think: "What number plus 71 equals 90?"

chelsearoberts14:

a)the complementary angle is 71 degrees and the supplementary angle is 29 degrees b) the complementary angle is 29 degrees and the supplementary angle is 71 degrees c)the complementary angle is 109 degrees and the supplementary angle is 19 degrees d) the complementary angle is 19 degrees and the supplementary angle is 109 degrees

Angle:

awesome, thanks for sharing the question options! we should know for sure that 71 is not going to be in the answer because that's already the starting number we are going to look for: complementary = "what number plus 71 equals 90?" and supplementary = "what number plus 71 equals 180?"

chelsearoberts14:

hold on plz

Angle:

yeah, no problem, take your time

chelsearoberts14:

71 plus 19 =90 then 71 plus 109=180

Angle:

perfect! :)

chelsearoberts14:

just wondering are you a teacher

chelsearoberts14:

im new to this site

Angle:

I am a teacher, but most of the helpers on QuestionCove are students just like you. I'm not always online because I have classes to teach, but you can always ask questions on this website. You can thank the people who help you by giving them the "best response" award.

which equation can be used to find the measure of an angle that is supplementary to <EGB a) m<EGB+ m<AGD= 180 degrees B)m <EGB+ m <EGA=180 degrees c)m <EGB + m <BGC=180 degrees d)m <EGB +m <BGF=180 degrees

@chelsearoberts14 We do prefer to keep it to one question per question thread - to keep the website organized. Do you mind clicking the "close" button at the top of this post and making a new post for your new question? :)

chelsearoberts14:

sorry

Angle:

no worries, I know you're new here :)
