Solve for X 5x+8=98

supie:

\(5x+8=98\) change the plus `(+)` in `+8` to a minus `(-)` so that you have `-8` now since you have -8 you subtract 8 from both sides of the equation which should give you \(5x=90\) because \(5x+8−8=98−8\) and 98-8=90 so you would get \(5x=90\) so now you divide both sides of the equation by 5 \(\LARGE\frac{5x}{5}=\frac{90}{5}\) \(\LARGE\cancel{\frac{5x}{5}}=\frac{90}{5}\) (5x/5 cancels) all that is left is 90/5 simplify that then you should have your answer 90/5=? x=? Another way you could think of it is what times 5 plus 8 equals 98

ok thank you

CripQUEZZ:

Ok so you want to get the (x) by its self so first 5x + 8 = 98 Since there’s a (+8) you wanna get everything away from (x) so instead of (+8) you flip it to (-8) Then subtract (-8) from both sides 5x + 8 - 8 = 98 - 8 So the (+8 - 8) is canceled out and then you simplify (98 - 8) 5x = 98 - 8 So now it’s (5x = 90) Then do the opposite of what (5) is doing and divide it on both sides 5x/5 = 90/5 So the (5x/5) is canceled out and your left with (x = 90/5) Then simplify it and you get (x) So it would be solved like this 5x + 8 = 98 5x + 8 - 8 = 98 - 8 5x = 98 - 8 5x = 90 5x/5 = 90/5 X = 90/5 Then simplify (90/5) And that will equal (x)
