Does the era of good feelings deserve its name?
What is the 'era of good feelings?'
It's was the National mood between 1816 to 1825. It marked a time In political history of the US which, in the aftermath of the war of 1812, reflected a sense of national purpose and a desire for untiy among americans.
I can't seem to find a good website, but this one states: "Because of westward expansion and economic prosperity, the years immediately following the war would be labeled as the Era of Good Feelings." The war they're referencing is the war of 1812, had between the United States and Great Britain. https://sharetngov.tnsosfiles.com/tsla/exhibits/1812/conclusion1.htm Basically the era seems to be referring to a growing economy and country, which sounds like an apt (good) description.
This question seems easily answered tbh on a topical level. Maybe on a graduate level you could question the underlying sociopolitical nature of the progress that was made, and maybe the economic ventures.
Yeah.
