Brooklyngreen:

What does (g4*34)-y4 =?

snowflake0531:

do you mean \[(g^4 * 3^4 ) - y^4\]

Brooklyngreen:

Yes

CripQUEZZ:

Is here a ss with the full problem?

Brooklyngreen:

I don' t know yet

CripQUEZZ:

So that’s all you know?

Brooklyngreen:

Not really i just need some of it

CripQUEZZ:

Ok but can you screenshot the problem and post it here?

Brooklyngreen:

The screenshot you pasted is different than what you originally posted. But even then, what is the exact question? What are the instructions?

CripQUEZZ:

Yeah I’m kinda confused on the way it was presented

Brooklyngreen:

To look and solve my teach has problem and i dont know how to solve it

AZ:

Does she want you to graph the function?

Brooklyngreen:

Yes but not to much because itll confuse us

AZ:

so do you know what odd and even numbers are?

Brooklyngreen:

Not in this sertin equation

AZ:

so do you agree that some odd numbers are: 1, 3, 5, 7, ... some even numbers are: 2, 4, 6, 8, ...

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Brooklyngreen Yes but not to much because itll confuse us \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) @AZ do you understand this answer on your question ?

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AZ Does she want you to graph the function? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) on this ...

AZ:

I think she's saying that she has to graph it but doesn't need to graph too many points so they don't get confused

jhonyy9:

Does she want you to graph the function? Yes but not to much because itll confuse us

Brooklyngreen:

This is what i mean yes

jhonyy9:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AZ I think she's saying that she has to graph it but doesn't need to graph too many points so they don't get confused \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) ok

AZ:

So let's do odd numbers first when we have odd numbers, we have to put it into f(n) = 3n + 1 when n is 1, what do you get? basically what is (3*1) + 1

Brooklyngreen:

Okay

Brooklyngreen:

ohh now i get it

AZ:

and for even numbers, we have to use f(n) = n/2

Brooklyngreen:

thats why i was getting confused thanks for the help you guys

AZ:

No problem!
