The city of Pompano Beach, Florida converts raw sewage into reclaimed water through filtering and disinfection. Most of Pompano's reclaimed water is used for landscape irrigation, and recharging the aquifer. Approximately 800 million gallons annually are reused. What is one environmental benefit of reclaiming waste water? A. It is less expensive than purified ground water. B. It can be used during water restrictions in a drought. C. It keeps golf courses and landscape grasses green. D. It reduces the demand for ground water.
what do you think it is?
B. or D.?
I think its C. Because it has the most to do with the World and its the most scientific thing
@AZ please help!
"environmental benefit" is key here
AZ has class rn he is busy
How do you know that?
@Angle Please halp
Help yourself and do some research concerning your question you might just learn something beneficial
What do you think the answer is? Your question says: They take sewage water so imagine all that water that goes down the drain after you shower or do dishes and then they filter it and disinfect it from any bacteria or chemicals. And like that, they're re-using 800 million gallons of water And they use that water to water the lands and refill the aquifer. So how does this benefit the environment? Which answer choices can you immediately cross off

Do you know the difference between a water table and an aquifer if u do it will help u understand the process of extracting water more
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Floo Help yourself and do some research concerning your question you might just learn something beneficial \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) I did that and I learned nothing!
Sort of. I don't remember what it is.
so the definition of an aquifer: "a body of permeable rock which can contain or transmit groundwater." So an aquifer holds groundwater
do you know about groundwater depletion?
No. My teacher never had that as a lesson.
So basically we need water to survive right? And so when we take water out from the ground faster than the water gets refilled, then we're losing the amount of water we have so knowing all that, can you figure out if the answer is B or D? how would re-using the water that we already pulled out and putting some back into the aquifer be helpful?
D?
Bingo!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
