Calculate the hourly wage associated with the two annual income levels listed below. Assume that an individual works 40 hours per week for 50 weeks each year.
Hi @rozarr
So we're assuming that one person works 40 hours per week for 50 weeks each year How many hours has he worked in 1 year then? Works 40 hours in 1 week Works 50 weeks in 1 year Do you know how to calculate how many hours a person would have worked in 1 year? (Hint: Just multiply the two numbers)
40 x 50 = 2000 ?
So he worked 2000 hours?
Yup!
Correct
so smart
So now let's look at your question If the annual income is 23,550 and a person has worked 2000 hours how much did he earn every hour? $23,550 for 2000 hours ??? for 1 hour so to calculate her hourly wage or how much he earned per hour just divide 23500 / 200 =
You mean divide 23500 / 2000 or do you really mean 200. Because if 200 , how did you get that?
oops, typo I meant 2000
Good catch!
His hourly wage was 11.75 :o
as my teachers would always say, just trying to make sure you're paying attention ;)
There you have it!! That's the hourly wage for the first row Now just like that, for the second row $51,994 dollars earned for 2000 hours ??? earned per hour just divide by 2000
25.99 - that's a lot of money.
There you have it!
I hope we did that correctly, by the way
Because they didn't exactly clarify how MANY people were working in this family of 4 But I'm assuming that it's only 1 person
I think it's 1 because it says, "Assume that an individual..."
Because if it's more than one person, like say both parents and there's 2 kids then the first question would be HALF of that so like 5.875 per hour and that's way below minimum wage
Yeah that's my reasoning too!
Can you help me with a few or two more questions if I make them?
Sure!
