The qc thing is laggy when i try to post recording I didn't do it on purpose

youroneboijos:

So,what is the question?

1982:

its in teh recording

mxddi3:

Ok delete some of those. Now, in the reading part, he describes the master doing an action. Read the things he says. "No words, no tears, no prayers, from his gory victims..." what is it that the master is doing here?

1982:

He wips the slaves and dont stop

1982:

Even though they cry etc/on the verge of dying

mxddi3:

Yes. Not just any slave either. He mentions a personal connection to one in particular. This is an important part for why he chose to write this as well. Now, who do you think was the audience? Keep in mind the time in which this was written as well.

1982:

He metions his old auntie that was getting wiped

mxddi3:

Yeah. So now we are on the question next to that. If he is sharing personal stories of him and his family being slaves, who do you think the audience could have been?

1982:

He wanted the audience to feel bad for his auntie, and see how life they life as a slave was and what they had to go through? So his audience are the people (Slaves, and non slaves of his time)

1982:

Naw naw us people of today that don't know how hard slavery was.His entire mentioning of the things that happened to him and his aunt are directed to tell is how (his or they) life was

1982:

*was like.

mxddi3:

Hm, i don't think he wanted them to necessarily feel bad. I was thinking more along the lines of wanting to show the harsh nature of what it's truly like to be a slave. He was proving how terrible these conditions truly were. He wanted to show the damage slavery caused. Now for the audience, I don't think it was for the slaves if he aimed to educate others on the life of a slave. If it's "non-slaves" who could we label them as? Who `wasn't` a slave?

1982:

My second answer wrong too?

mxddi3:

Well, he wrote it for the people in his time, but which specific group of people? I need you to get more specific. Your response for why he wrote it is pretty much there. As I said, he wanted to show the damage slavery did to African Americans. He tried to show the life of a slave to those who wouldn't understand the pain and suffering. If African Americans were the slaves, who would he be trying to inform about why slavery isn't good? It's pretty simple...

1982:

So its correct.

mxddi3:

Your reasoning as to why. Your intended audience isn't quite the right answer.

1982:

Ima just write it myself, thanks anyway.
