Part A First
@AZ - @snowflake0531 ?
By just reading the question, which two equations can you eliminate _____=______ So, two of them must be wrong
A and C ? d;
2 quarts yellow paint + 3.75 jars of blue paint = 0.5 quarts of yellow paint + 5.5 jars of red paint just looking at the numbers 2 3.75 0.5 5.5 Which ones can you eliminate bc they're not in the right side of the equation
im gonna guess B and D d;
I DON'T KNOW DKHASILAKSJ
you don't need a brain just, left side is 2 and 3.75, right side is 0.5 and 5.5 WHICH ONES CAN YOU ELIMINATE
Which side- π
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @snowflake0531 you don't need a brain just, left side is 2 and 3.75, right side is 0.5 and 5.5 WHICH ONES CAN YOU ELIMINATE \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) shoot, 3.25 i meant
._.
B and D-? JHADBSJASDKJJDILK ππ
THEY HAVE 2 L:MEDAIJ
hquiegqjpirgq3jingq3 i quit
noooooo
@supie
@AZ
uhhh how about a and c ? π
i spoke wrong
B and A ? ;)
is it a b c d ? o;
aw, yes, it's one of a b c or d :)
ok its D
orrrr a b c
supie will explain it xddd
no matter what, he'll still have more patient than me, aka, being better at explaining:)
see it has 2
Ferny u were not coming on why??
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @imangel Ferny u were not coming on why?? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) -_-
Liam uses 2 quarts of \(\sf\color{yellow}{yellow}\) paint and adds \( 3\dfrac{1}{4}\) jarsof \(\sf \color{blue}{blue}\) paint Evan uses \(\dfrac{1}{2}\) quarts of \(\sf\color{yellow}{yellow}\) paint and adds \( 5 \dfrac{1}{2}\) jars of \(\sf\color{red}{red}\) paint
we know how much a quart is but how much of paint does a JAR hold?? so use a letter or variable for that and we know that Liam and Evan added their paints and so at the end, they both have the same amount of paint so set it equal to each other
2 quarts okok whats a variable π
a letter
a quart is a measurement like gallons but a jar could be a small jar or a large jar and we don't know how much it holds a variable is a letter like 'x' or 'y' or `a`and `b`
or something to represent an unknown
are we adding this up ? π
so we know that Liam has 2 quarts of yellow plus 3 1/4 jars of blue and the total amount of volume is equal to Evan's 1/2 quart of yellow plus 5 1/2 jars of red
this sounds like thee answer is D- πππΌππΌ
how
D is the first answer you should have eliminated The two numbers are 2 + 3 1/4 for Liam and 1/2 + 5 1/2 for Evan
it has 1/2 in the beginning π
D is the only one that DOESN'T have those numbers
oh whack
so we need a variable for jars so let's call it x, okay? remember that Liam = Evan so Liam's numbers = Evan's numbers and that the number that goes with JARS should have x
Liam is Evan WHAT !?!?! π
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls Liam is Evan WHAT !?!?! π \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) the amount of paint that Liam made is equal to the amount of paint Evan made do you agree with that?
it makes no sense but sure ill agree to what you say
read your question it says in the last sentence THEY END UP WITH THE SAME VOLUME OF PAINT so the amount of paint that Liam ends up with is EQUAL to the amount of paint that Evan ends up with
Its A
no so remember we said that QUARTS is a measurement? you can tell anyone you have 1 quart and they'll know the size of that (4 quarts makes 1 gallon) but JARS is not a real measurement so you want to have 'x' with the numbers that belong with the JARS so with \( 3\dfrac{1}{4}\) and \( 5\dfrac{1}{2}\)
this makes no sense but ok
its B ;))
which answer choice has an 'x' with those two numbers?
you got it
x
PART B SAKJLSJAKKJLS
we said that quarts is a measurement but we don't know how big or small the jars are or how many jars and how many quarts fit into the jar so the 'x' has to be with \( 3\dfrac{1}{4}\) and \( 5\dfrac{1}{2}\) so \( 3\dfrac{1}{4}x\) and \( 5\dfrac{1}{2}x\)
can you solve the equation for 'x' \( 2 + 3\dfrac{1}{4}x = \dfrac{1}{2} + 5\dfrac{1}{2}x\) and then we'll have to use that value of x to find the volume of paint they mixed
but here's a hint we can just eliminate the answer choices we know that Liam mixed 2 QUARTS + some unknown quarts that fit in the jars
the total volume has to be greater than 2 so which answer choice is bigger than 2
so isa A ? ;)
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls so isa A ? ;) \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) wait, Ferny give me a minute I have to make something really quick
whack fine but A and B are left ;)
okay, now let's resume
woah im cute
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls whack fine but A and B are left ;) \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) so now I said that Liam has made AT LEAST 2 quarts in all So the total volume Liam had to make is obviously bigger than 2 Which number of those 4 numbers given in your answer choices is BIGGER than 2 Do you really think a negative number is bigger than 2? How much is 2/3 Is that bigger than 2? What about 1 1/2 Is that number bigger than 2? What about 4 1/6 Is this number bigger than 2?
How much is 2/3 Is that bigger than 2? ^ 3 ;) ? What about 1 1/2 Is that number bigger than 2? no What about 4 1/6 Is this number bigger than 2? yes :D
kjkjkjkjk the last one is no
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls kjkjkjkjk the last one is no \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) are you sure like 100% sure
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AZ \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls kjkjkjkjk the last one is no \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) are you sure like 100% sure \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes mother
answer is B ? uwuwuwuwuuw
go ask your mom if 4 is bigger or smaller than 2 you have a great relationship with your mother, I'm sure since you went to go ask her about the holy spirit go ask her if 4 is bigger or smaller than 2
ok brb :3
so........ am I right I never asked her because I am `not` good at spanish so B is my answer bc Part A was the answer B and no nEgatiVe numbers
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls so........ am I right I never asked her because I am `not` good at spanish so B is my answer bc Part A was the answer B and no nEgatiVe numbers \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) no it's not B 2/3 is 0.667 and is something that is less than 1 going to be bigger than 2?
wut
its c duh
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @sxdsouls its c duh \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) uhhhhhh
do you want to try again?
isa D ? πͺπͺπ«π«ππππ’π’π
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AZ do you want to try again? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) no no no no no no and no. never again
