How did the black plague affect central Egypts trading routes?
Whatever the actual numbers, the massive loss of population - both human and animal - had major economic consequences. Those cities hit with the plague shrank, leading to a decrease in demand for goods and services and reduced productive capacity. As laborers became more scarce, they were able to demand higher wages. Well, the black plague was making everyone sick, so the cities with the sickest people had a decrease in goods. So they probably didn't have things to trade exactly?
Thank you both!!
According to Khan Academy, it says "Black Death impact on trade Whatever the actual numbers, the massive loss of population - both human and animal - had major economic consequences. Those cities hit with the plague shrank, leading to a decrease in demand for goods and services and reduced productive capacity. As laborers became more scarce, they were able to demand higher wages." In the cities that were hit, their plagues shrank, leading to a decrease in demand for goods and services and reduced productive capacity. As there were fewer laborers they were able to demand a higher paycheck.
Thanks!!
