minustempo:

y varies jointly with x means y and x are in the form y = kx

minustempo:

y varies with the square of z means y and z are in the form of y = kx^2 btw k here is just any integer

minustempo:

so here, putting it together, we get y = kx*kz^2 however, remember that with constants, k^2 = another integer, so really we can just still set the constant to k so our equation is y = kxz^2

minustempo:

now we plug in y = 90, x =5, and z=3 90 = k*5*3^2 = k*45 2 = k

minustempo:

so our equation is y = 2xz^2

Florisalreadytaken:

i think @minustempo did a great job on that and explained it pretty well -- why did you tag me then? -- you stuck?

klmjnmkj:

i just needed to kno if their right

Florisalreadytaken:

ah ok -- yeah it's right!

Florisalreadytaken:

if it detects it as a wrong answer, then just plug in the numbers for x, y, and z
