When baking a cake do you use ingredients like oil as it says on the box or replace with natural ingredients like milk?
Well, for the recipe to taste like the recipe follow the recipe.
You can substitute water for milk, since they're similar in consistency; milk would NOT be a good substitute for oil. You could probably get away with using any of various types of oils: vegetable oil, butter, coconut oil... it could change the end result, but chances are it'll still taste good!
Normal oil seems kinda gross
Coconut oil though that might be fun to mess around with
What are you baking, by the way?
Just a chocolate cake
Maybe strawberry
Oh that sounds tasty. When baking cake, I think the oils help to keep the cake nice and moist. As long as your "oil" is high in lipids, it'll do the trick. Only other thing to consider for that would be the flavor, but most oils are neutral tasting so that's not a huge deal It's also important not to overmix your batter. It can be tempting to keep mixing and mixing to get rid of the clumps, but if you overdo it, the batter will become too dense and the cake will turn out like a brick. I've been there before
Oh but I read back and saw you're using a boxed cake recipe. It's kind of hard to mess those up, as long as you don't go too far from the instructions!
Alright thank you
do what the box says....olive oil is not good
i recommend following the recipe
Imagine messing up on a cake
