How does the verb phrase "ran after" compare to "raced after"? It is less general. It is more vivid. It is less vivid. It is more specific.

The two phrases have the same meaning, but I think "raced after" is more vivid than "ran after" I don't think "raced after" is more *specific*, since "ran after" tells how the person is doing the chasing--with their legs. "Raced after" could mean on foot, in a car, on a bike... so it's more vivid, but not more specific. I think
