Jeremiah is working on a model bridge he needs to create triangular components and he plans to use to fix he finds three toothpicks of lengths 4in 5in and 1 in Will he be able to create the triangular component with these two face without modifying any of the lengths

SmokeyBrown:

Jeremiah won't be able to create a triangle with these three lengths. I drew a picture to illustrate why|dw:1624046581005:dw| No matter how you connect the lines, the two shorter ones are not long enough to form a triangle with the longest line. This brings us to a fundamental rule about triangles which is simply that the two shortest lengths have to add up to be longer than the third length.
