Ineedhelponmymath:

How many coefficients can there be in a polynomial written in standard form?

SmokeyBrown:

In a standard form polynomial, there can be as many coefficients as there are expressions. And the number of expressions cannot be greater than the highest exponent of the polynomial. For example, you could have a*x^2 + b*x + c In that case, a and b would be coefficients. There can be a maximum of 2 of them since the largest exponent is 2. If the largest exponent were 3, there could be a maximum of 3 coefficients, and so on...
