I'm a little confused on how to find the slope of a perpendicular line. Can someone help me?

SmokeyBrown:

The slope of a perpendicular line will be the "negative reciprocal" of the slope of the original line. In other words, you can take the slope of the original line (call it "x"), and the slope of the line perpendicular to the original will be equal to (-1/x). For example, if you have a line with the slope of 2/3, the slope of the line perpendicular to that line will be [-1/(2/3)] or -3/2
