The image of a point is C'(2, 7). A 90° clockwise rotation was performed to get this image. What were the coordinates of the pre-image? (7, -2) (-7, -2) (-2, -7) (-7, 2)

FexrlessRxby:

I believe that the same process Extrinix showed in the previous question will correlate to this question too.

FexrlessRxby:

"Ok so, here’s how we’re going to look at the “graph”. Quadrant 2 (-x, y) - Quadrant 1 (x,y) Quadrant 3 (-x,-y) - Quadrant 4 (x,-y)"

FexrlessRxby:

From this, we know that the point is in the first quadrant.

FexrlessRxby:

A 90 degree clockwise rotation would put it into the fourth quadrant, so the original point would be (7,-2).

babyygurlllkellieee:

ohhhhh. tysm! :)

FexrlessRxby:

Of course!
