Joe348:

Slope formula?

Joe348:

no for like linear equations?

carmelle:

@0mega wrote:
y = mx + b
wrong, that is the intercept form

carmelle:

slope intercept*

Joe348:

it says the slope formula followed by the point-slope formula

Joe348:

is it like m= something over something?

itsmehjay:

Wouldn't it be y=mx+b because you use that to find the slope of linear equations?

carmelle:

The one I think you are looking for is \[slope = \frac{ y _{2} - y _{1}}{ x _{2} - x _{1} }\]

Joe348:

ah yes thank you and the point slope formula?

carmelle:

point slope is \[y - y _{1}=m(x-x _{1})\]

Joe348:

tysm

carmelle:

np~
