Zo:

How does a black hole work?

MadamMystery:

It is not working actually πŸ˜… It is a dead star which bulids very strong gravitational pull and pulls in everything nearby even the energy sources. I guess you are asking the origin of a black hole so here it isβ€” When a star becomes old, it starts to collapse and becomes a black hole.

other words, it is an unstable part in space that opens a gateway-like hole into deep space

Yes

BrokenMoon:

Its a dead star, so technically it doesnt work, it just pulls stuff in

Okay I would like to clarify. A black hole is not a dead star!! A black hole is a product of a star collapsing on itself, the star itself is gone. Other than that its just a black hole. Stars can become black holes but its not a dead star (technically). A dead star is a white dwarf that decided to go away in a *soft way* in a planetary nebulae. Black holes are cosmic objects that have intense gravity so intense that light itself can not escape, if you turn on the light in your room you would not see it light cause of the black hole (example). No one really knows what inside of a black hole, the gravity is too immense to put any craft inside. People often believe that a black hole takes the matter into another universe, but there are many different theories.
