I don't think they survived during the escape. If they did, we would know.
hiitsmehannah:
that's true but they also didn't fine there body's
AnakKrakatau1883:
That is correct. The strong currents in the bay would have pulled them down into the depths or pushed them out to sea. To this day, no one knows what happened to them.

The prison is on an island in the middle of the bay, so I can see why. This mystery is not as compelling than the "Ship of Dreams": The R.M.S. Titanic. I will ask a question about the topic, so please stay tuned for that.

In 1962, on the night of June 11th, three men escaped the high security prison called Alcatraz. This plan was months in the making. Let me explain to you why I believe they survived. The season was winter, 3 men decided to make a prison break. They made dummy’s of themselves so that they might be able to escape during the night.During the instrument time that inmates were given, the used the advantage of the noise to dig the bricks in their cells. At 10 PM that very night they blew up a raft, made of rain jackets that they had collected over time, in hopes of making it across the freezing, fast pace, river. Unfortunately the raft didn't make it, killing one of the three men. The other two however were able to swim and make it to shore. There might not seem to be much evidence of this which is why I have included the following. A woman who sells warranties at a car dealership has done this swim, from the area they supposedly landed on, to the Alcatraze prison, approximatly 1,000 times. In 2016 a 9 year old swam to the island and back. A NINE YEAR OLD! Also may I add the fact that later that year a fellow inmate had made the swim across the bay, naked, in much worse conditions.he was found on the beach and returned safely but the point is that he made it! A source says, “As kids, John and Clarence Anglin became strong swimmers in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan”(Purcer, 2) This shows us that they were prepared for what was to come. No bodies ever showed up that were related to this case, and in 2015 a photo emerged showing the two brothers in Brazil. Living safely. So I question you, questioncovers? Did they make it? Or did they not. I’ll leave that up to you to figure out. :3

yeah but all of them on that one raft it wouldve sunk before they made it to shore
and only 1 person really needed to use the raft if it was too small then the other two could swim
