Read the excerpt from Major's speech in chapter 1 of Animal Farm. "Fix your eyes on that, comrades, throughout the short remainder of your lives! And above all, pass on this message of mine to those who come after you, so that future generations shall carry on the struggle until it is victorious. "And remember, comrades, your resolution must never falter. No argument must lead you astray. Never listen when they tell you that Man and the animals have a common interest, that the prosperity of the one is the prosperity of the others. It is all lies. Man serves the interests of no creature except himself. And among us animals let there be perfect unity, perfect comradeship in the struggle. All men are enemies. All animals are comrades." Which prediction does this passage best support? The animals will learn that Major has purposefully lied to them. The animals on the farm will die as a result of human actions. Man and some animals will ultimately share similar goals. Most of the animals will refuse to pass on Major’s teachings.
Will give brainliest to whoever answers.
I have read this book for school up to chapter 8 and this speech was a huge topic for us. The answer I believe is the right one for this is d:Most of the animals will refuse to pass on the Major's teachings.
Thank you!
Reason I say this is because Old Major dies later in the book. Why would the animals proceed to follow his teachings when the other pigs will eventually take charge.
Thank you! I appreciate it!!!! Any chance you know this one? Read the excerpt from chapter 6 of Animal Farm. "You have heard then, comrades," he said, "that we pigs now sleep in the beds of the farmhouse? And why not? You did not suppose, surely, that there was ever a ruling against beds? A bed merely means a place to sleep in. A pile of straw in a stall is a bed, properly regarded. The rule was against sheets, which are a human invention. We have removed the sheets from the farmhouse beds, and sleep between blankets. And very comfortable beds they are too! But not more comfortable than we need, I can tell you, comrades, with all the brainwork we have to do nowadays. You would not rob us of our repose, would you, comrades? You would not have us too tired to carry out our duties? Surely none of you wishes to see Jones back?" Which theme is best supported by the verbal irony in this passage? Power creates divisions within society. Naïve citizens enable corrupt governments. Temptation can lead those in power to corruption. Corrupt leaders use propaganda to remain in power.
If the question was dramatic irony, I could answer this easily. Verbal irony might take me a little longer.
Oh, well this could tie into World History Political Cartoons.
Same here! Dramatic irony is about the only irony I understand
Because if you look at political cartoons, such one about a World War, you would see that almost, if not all of them, are propoganda.
Yes!
So therefore, the answer to this question would also be the last one, because the pigs are corrupt leaders who use propoganda.
I greatly appreciate your help! Was struggling especially with the first one yeah, I had a feeling it was that one too
I was glad to help! Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks! There is one more . . . .🤦 Read the excerpt from chapter 2 of Animal Farm. The pigs now revealed that during the past three months they had taught themselves to read and write from an old spelling book which had belonged to Mr. Jones’s children and which had been thrown on the rubbish heap. Napoleon sent for pots of black and white paint and led the way down to the five-barred gate that gave on to the main road. Then Snowball (for it was Snowball who was best at writing) took a brush between the two knuckles of his trotter, painted out MANOR FARM from the top bar of the gate and in its place painted ANIMAL FARM. How does the passage influence the reader’s interpretation of the text? Select two options. The text contributes to a feeling of suspense. The text highlights exciting events to keep the reader’s attention. The text indicates that the story is moving toward a key event in the text. The text furthers the plot by explaining how the pigs can read and write. The text furthers the plot by giving details about Snowball.
Haha! No, its fine!
