FriskIsNice:

hello! i have a equation and i would like to know if it’s right, let me post it rn

FriskIsNice:

Chloeisdum:

the first one is rational because you can divide the two numbers

Chloeisdum:

The second one, what do you think the answer is?

Vocaloid:

Politely disagree w/ the previous response. When it comes to square roots, if the number inside the square root (the radicand) is a perfect square, it's rational. so for the first problem, it's rational because 9 is a perfect square. 3 * sqrt(9) = 3 * 3 = 9 For the second problem, 3 is not a perfect square, so sqrt(3) is irrational, and therefore 9sqrt(3) is irrational. @friskisnice can you try the third and fourth problems using this same logic?
