So we know both people sold popcorn and candy bars and both made money. We don’t know how much each bag of popcorn was or how much each candy bar was. We can find out using a system of equations. Like the problem suggests, let’s let p = # the price of popcorn bag and c = price of each candy bar

Vocaloid:

We can write one equation for April and another one for Sheryl Starting with April: she sold 32 bags of popcorn and 35 bags of popcorn. Since one bag of popcorn costs p dollars, she made 32*p from popcorn sales. Using the same logic with the candy bars, she made 35c from candy bar sales. Together she made 297.75. So 35p + 32c = 297.75 That’s April’s equation. Can you try writing Sheryl’s using the same logic?

Narwal4u:

thank youj
