English 4 (Writing an Essay but need brutal feedback) If this violates rules, sorry There are many stories in this world that is considered a great story. But none have come close to this masterpiece about a particular young man called Beowulf by his friends and family who eventually became a hero and a future king. Beowulf has had many events and experiences that led up to his victory and explains how he has become a significant hero. Here are some examples I found using the story “Beowulf”. Beowulf who traveled from Sweden to Denmark, defends the “royal hall and its residents” from the terrifying Grendel. For over a decade, Grendel was described as a “huge man-like ogre” who terroized the village that Beowulf bravely defended. For 12 years, anyone of them could have standed up to this giant but nobody has had the courage to at least try and fight Grendel unlike Beowulf . Beowulf bravery made him a hero. Not only did his bravery make him a hero, the way he kept calm and kept his “dignity” also made him a hero. During what we call dinner nowadays, all royal members gathered together to have a banquet. As expected, the majority of them got drunk but one was highly intoxicated. Under the influence of being drunk, “Unferth” offended Beowulf by claiming that … “the Geat visitor once embarassingly lost a swimming contest to a boyhood acquaintance named Breca and is no match for Grendel” but with dignity, Beowulf respectively “... put Unferth in his place”. This shows that even though Beowulf knew that he was very drunk, he respectively showed a sign of
