is the type of figurative language a rhetorical question? or am i wrong?
@extrinix
only the highlighted part..
so this most likey will not be helpful if you don't understand and gain anything from this but, there are 5 main branches of the 12 type figurative tree. metaphors, similes, personification, hyperbole, and symbolism- are all things that the term figurative language is determined by. Metaphors- a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. simile- a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g., as brave as a lion, crazy like a fox ). personification- the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form. hyperbole- exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally. and symbolism- the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities. A rhetorical question is a question that is meant to imply a point and be made clear, as it is not meant to receive information or gain an answer. So ask yourself with this information, what do you think the answer could possibly be?
