Yeah, I think so. "perfect from the start" characters are boring, "making the audience members feel confused" can make them uninterested, and using no clear transitions, kind of like the option prior, will only make the audience confused and thus, uninterested. Usually ppl stay to see how the problem gets solved at the end of a story.

Like I said, confusion only makes people uninterested in things, unless they're the type of person who is curious and likes to analyze things, but I think it's safe to assume the audience in general, since it's so vast, will stick to the majority and be disinterested in being confused. A reminder that "confused" has negative connotations and "interested" has positive connotations.
