Here are the revised paragraphs: Social limitations: African Americans faced numerous social limitations that were specifically designed to segregate them from white people. Segregation laws created separate facilities for African Americans, but these facilities were rarely equal to those for whites. African Americans were denied access to many public places and activities, such as restaurants, swimming pools, and theaters. They were also prevented from marrying or dating white people, and they were not allowed to attend the same schools as white people. As a result, African Americans were forced to create their own communities and institutions, which were often underfunded and lacked resources. Political limitations: African Americans were also limited in their political freedom. They were prevented from exercising their right to vote through a variety of measures, including poll taxes and literacy tests. These barriers were put in place by white lawmakers who sought to maintain their power and privilege. African Americans were also subjected to violence and intimidation by groups like the Ku Klux Klan, which sought to keep African Americans from participating in politics and other aspects of society. As a result of these limitations, African Americans were largely excluded from the political system and had little say in the laws and policies that affected their lives. Economic limitations: Economically, African Americans faced numerous limitations that hindered their ability to earn a living and accumulate wealth. Many African Americans were prevented from owning land or businesses, and they were forced to work in low-paying jobs with few opportunities for advancement. They were also subjected to discrimination in the workplace, which often resulted in lower wages and limited job opportunities. In addition, the end of slavery led to a decline in farming in the South, which had a negative impact on the entire economy of the region. As a result of these economic limitations, many African Americans struggled to make ends meet and were unable to achieve financial stability or security.
