Wait so if eve had all the kids..but the bible says we are descendants of Abraham..then which on is it?
please tell me
both
But how-?
@hero @arieonna
Like i really want to know
one of Abraham's ancestor's is eve
Abraham is a descendant of Eve. Eve & Adam > they had a son named Seth > his third son is called Noah > Abraham is his descendant
Ohhh-! Okay, that makes sense- But why don't they say that we are the descendent of Eve- Why Abraham if he came later?
HMM, i'm not sure but i think that is because God chose Abraham to be the father of all nations, and Judaism "started" with Abraham.
Okay but if eve was a big part of that how come she was never mentioned?
mentioned in...? from my sunday school/studies, we were taught about genesis/eve & adam along with other passages and scripture. (my family is evangelical Christian)
Why isn't she mentioned as much in Abrahams background
basically abraham is the father of faith so all of those who have faith as the bible refers to it are his children which is as many people as the sand in the desert
OHH well i think its bc Abraham was the one who basically "founded" the religion, so those who believe in Him (God) are referred to his children.
Ohhh I think I get it-!
If anything, Adam is mentioned more than Eve probably because God took part of Adam to create the first woman, Eve. A lot of these concepts can seem difficult and abstract and, in my opinion and observation, is because of language with Hebrew being one of the most difficult to understand. Greek and other languages during biblical times are arguably easier to understand but different translations compliment each other and offer different ways of understanding the Bible for different people. With that in mind, try not to be too caught up in the intentional and unintentional mistakes in the writings because it will not contradict the overall messages and recorded events within it. If you want to go on a more scholarly deep dive, some YouTube channels like The Bible Project, will123will, Got Questions Ministries, @_magnify, and Cross Examined are great for starters. Personally, I recommend them after learning from them over the years as well as reading the Bible for myself on my own or with other people.
